What's it like to work for Aquila?

Our core values

What our people say about Aquila

  • I work for Aquila as a Flight Simulator Operator (FSO) on a Royal Air Force base within the U.K. The FSO simulates the role of an aircraft pilot reacting to instructions from an Air Traffic Controller, it is quite a unique role but just one example of the diversity of jobs provided by the company. I value working for Aquila due to its clearly defined principles but also because, within the capacity of my role, it’s exciting to be a part of shaping the future of military air traffic management. During my eight years with the company, I have progressed to the position of Senior Team Leader and feel both trusted and respected in my capacity as a manager.

  • I’ve been with Aquila since 2020, and what continues to stand out to me is the people and the opportunities available. As a business of around 300 employees, it’s a place where you can build meaningful relationships across the organisation and where people genuinely make time for one another. I’ve progressed through three different roles into my current position as an HR Business Partner, gaining experience across many areas of HR and being encouraged to bring ideas to life and make a real impact. From my experience, Aquila is a place full of opportunity. You can see the impact of your contribution, shape ideas into reality, and play a meaningful role in supporting a wider national purpose.

  • I work as a Senior Air Traffic Engineer at Aquila, covering Royal Air Force Brize Norton Terminal Air Traffic Control Centre. I have been working for Aquila in an Engineering role for 9 years and found it to be a challenging and rewarding experience. I take great pride in knowing that my work directly supports the safe and effective movement of aircraft and personnel on training and operations. Every day brings new challenges, requiring me to use my technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure. I enjoy working in Aquila as part of a highly skilled team, supporting colleagues in all areas of the business to strive for the best service delivery and ATM solutions for the customer. The role has strengthened my leadership, communication, and technical abilities while giving me a strong sense of purpose and professional achievement.
